Rod Seals
Rod and buffer seals maintain sealing contact in sliding motion between the cylinder head and the piston rod. The goal is to prevent the escape of the pressurized operating medium from the cylinder and the contact with external contaminants. Depending on each application, a rod sealing system can consist of a rod seal and a buffer seal or a rod seal only.
The WR rod seal has the characteristic of a second lip, which has the function of retaining the lubricant to prevent dry use and excessive wear. In many cases this solution can replace the assembly of a second sealing ring with cost savings and more construction simplicity.
The particular design is less sensitive to pressure fluctuations when compared to that of standard U-shaped seals; its material guarantees a long shelf life to the seal and excellent resistance to extrusion.
