Metal Cased O.D.
Metal cased rotary shaft seals are manufactured with a stamped metal case and a sealing lip made of elastomer, which is bonded to the case.
The case is usually made of mild carbon steel, elaborated and finalized through different machines. The main function of the metal case is to protect the lip during the seal installation and provide a suitable condition between the outer diameter of the seal and the housing bore.
DICHTA SA recommends the case made in stainless steel for seals operating in highly corrosive environments (available on-demand only).
